12:05 am in Uncategorized by ori.roth

I didn’t watch more than 6 seconds of this video, but soon as I saw it’s Paul Lind I knew I have to post it.

I can assure you it contains hardcore body/blind/supernatural throws and catches ball tricks.

Our Mascot came for a visit

8:25 am in Uncategorized by raffi.vitis

As you probably know, out mascot is the chameleon, making his appearance in our logo, our t-shirts, and here and there across the site. a few days ago, when I was in my backyard going through some jugglingequipment this friend was looking at me from one of the boxes. We made a quick photo shoot with some juggling props before he continued onwards to his next adventure…

Here are a couple of the pictures we made together.

NEW Diabolo T-shirt!

10:18 pm in Uncategorized by raffi.vitis

After quite a lot of work we finally have our new T-shirt design ready. All you diabolo players out there will probably like it. It will be the first T-shirt in a new line designed by eLena from TheBlackAndWhiteCat. The theme behind the whole line will be “this juggling equipment could also be”, as is evident in the first diabolo/butterfly T-shirt.
We have still not decided on the final color schemes. And we were hoping you could all help us out. Details will be revealed soon. Very Soon!

Meg came up with an idea – a virtual HomeOfPoi christmas tree where everyone would put their spinning videos on Christmas day. This is the video I made, enjoy :)

Merry Christmas everyone :)

Improvising a mini convention

12:59 am in Uncategorized by SondreOverby

As I have mentioned in previous posts, Levanger stands out as a pretty strong juggling community with about 22 active jugglers attending the weekly juggling meetings. As it happens, I am their coach(yes, I get paid for that) and so I hold the keys to the gym where we practice.

Last year, 6-7 of these youngsters had got together for something that they called “Maximum Juggling Night” where they hung out and juggled for a full day and a full night, also watching juggling videos and the likes. Of course, they asked me to organise a repeat of it. But seeing as I have the keys for a gym, why not stay in the gym instead…? Splendid idea! So we did.

But once we were at it, we thought we might as well invite the rest of the 22 jugglers to come. And they did. But in the process of organising this, it became obvious to me that making it a full weekend would be a lot more fun, and so I stretched the name of the “event” and called it the “Maximum Juggling Weekend”.

So far so good – we were expecting about 23 people for the weekend, and I made a Facebook page. And quite soon it was obvious that a bit more people would turn up – the numbers soon hit 35, and with a free gym and no entry fee, I thought this was great. We were paying nothing but my free time for an event that “lots” of people would enjoy. In the end, it turned out that 40 people had attended in total, and looking back at this post, it seems that this which was pretty much just a “7 people hang out for a full day and night” that turned into “40 people get together for a weekend of fun”. And all of it was free.

Now what of this kind have YOU done lately? Get organising! Put together these juggling meetings for yourself and your friends. People came to our event travelling over 10 hours by train when they didn’t even know anything about the venue or the people there – what change would be brought about to the juggling community if every other club would do this a couple times a year?

Coaching the juggling world

2:47 pm in Uncategorized by SondreOverby

Not that long ago, I proposed to the world of juggling – or at least to those couple hundred people that happened to watch my video – that I voulenteer to personally coach any juggler in the world that happens to want my opinion.

The response was pretty good. In about two days I had ten video responses with juggling that I was supposed to comment on, which was just about what I expected. I’ve probably gotten about fifteen in total, and I’ve replied to about half of it so far. I have some left.

If you want to see the remake of the initial video I posted, watch this:

Want me to help you?

Y0u can find all the responses I’ve made, right here: http://www.youtube.com/user/Yomay#grid/user/2D44D0F246606A6C

I thought that this could be a valuable service to the juggling community because there are so many people that juggle alone or with someone that cannot really tell them what to correct about their juggling or what to work on in order to improve without damaging their technique, and there didn’t seem to be that many people doing this – of course, there have been tutorials before, but not any adressing individual jugglers.

So therefore, I would encourage those that want help to send me a video response! If there are many people, the waiting lines might get long, so don’t lose your chance! Remember, it’s totally free! I may not be the best coach, but how many do YOU have to choose from?

Epic starts here

While you are all waiting for the results of the J-P-C here is something to look at while biting your nails waiting anxiously to find out who won the 2 G4 finesse diabolos.

here’s what Martijn Halekor writes about the movie:
“Arjan and I spent a week of our summer holidays at William’s (aka crackers). This video is a result of the footage we shot and the ideas we had during that week.

This video (and it’s soundtracks) contains cursing, partial nudity, inside jokes, heavy over-use of random quotes & samples and is overflowing with awesomeness.

Close your curtains, dim down your lights, crank the volume to the max and enjoy!”
